Ashtanga is a very dynamic and athletic form of hatha yoga with a fixed order of postures. In our Ashtanga Xpress + Vibes classes we will focus on sequences within the primary series with a few from the secondary series. This class explores creative license, allowing the teachers to sprinkle their own vibe into the offering.

Restorative Yin is a class that commences with Yin to open the body than moves into more relaxing restorative poses to calm the nervous system. A deeply relaxing, meditative practise.

The Restorative aspect of this practise uses props to support and open the physical body without judgement, simply focusing on the breath to active the parasympathetic nervous system. A Beautiful meditative journey to seal the practice.

  • Difficulty: All Levels

Yoga practices are not limited by age. In fact, a yoga practice is one of the few physical exercises you can continue as you age. This Golden Age yoga class welcomes all yogis to the mat for a soft stretch and strength session incorporating elements of Hatha. This class may also include yoga Nidra and breath work. This class will follow the same weekly theme as the Hatha classes and will appeal to those who want to come to practise and not be too overexerted, those who have more aging bodies and those moving out of injury.

    Thursday 9.30am - Beginners
    Thursday 5.45pm - Intermediate-Advanced

Barre is a toning, body-weight-lifting workout that engages deep muscles often overlooked by traditional exercises like squats, lunges, and sit-ups. Our Barre Fusion class combines elements of Pilates and Barre, this low-impact, light cardio class focuses on strengthening the core and muscles, enhancing pelvic stability, and improving joint mobility. With high-reps and low-impact movements, barre challenges anyone looking to fine-tune their muscles—no ballet experience required! The class flows seamlessly through sequences that include floor work to standing barre techniques, along with a fun warm-up, toning sessions, and a cooling down stretch. You can expect to slightly increase your heart rate and work up a sweat for detoxification, all while enjoying fun and giggles.

If you are new to Barre we suggest you come along to the Thursday morning classes to learn the basics before you get into the higher intensity, faster flowing sessions on Thursday Night and Tuesdays.

Thu 9:30am – You will still get a very active workout, but the pace will be slower and more focused on gaining the basic knowledge of the Barre moves. This will be a strong core and pelvic floor workout.

Thu 5:45pm – Picking up the Cardio rate, this class is sure to bring the heart rate up high and the laughs along with it. We will incorporate some additional props to keep the class flowing, fun and challenging.

  • Difficulty: Beginner to Advanced

This mat Pilates style is slightly different from the classical Matwork Pilates; the contemporary mat Pilates has modifications for the individual body and the movements are focused on a neutral pelvis (because we all have differently shaped pelvises)

Expect to have fun and flow, while still breaking a sweat, the heart rate will rise up as we move through low impact repetition and progression in the sequences.

  • This class will be run on the 4th Sunday of most months.

Yoga offers an incredible range of benefits for men of all ages. Not only does the practice boast incredible stress-relieving qualities, but it can also help you lose weight, gain strength and muscle, improve work and sleep.
However getting men to identify with yoga has long been a challenge in this country. It doesn’t matter that yoga, since its beginnings in India thousands of years ago, has mainly been taught and studied by men.

Chris will be hosting this monthly mens yoga class at Tranquil.
Chris’s friendly & down to earth approach welcomes all blokes to come & give it a go, first timers very welcome! Connect, clear the mind and move the body.

This class is part of the Tranquil + Fitness Passports Memberships or can be purchased as a stand alone class.

  • This morning Yin class will give you the opportunity to welcome your body to the day. The class consists of long passive stretch holds held from 3-5 minutes. Waking up the morning fuzz on the soft connective tissue creating more space, mobility and flexibility to move through your day.
